3 common mistakes in learning Chinese language

You can often meet advisers who do not know a word of Chinese, but they give advice on learning it. Use this information to protect yourself from harmful recommendations.

“You need to go to China, and study there right away!”

This recommendation is bad and the fact that it is also costly. So you came to China without knowing anything in Chinese. We were on a busy street in Shanghai. And what? What will it give you? How can you learn a language just by being in China and not understanding at all what and how people communicate, what is written on the signs and why the sentence is structured that way? Therefore, a trip to China to study the language without a Chinese base is a useless idea, and such advice is harmful.

“Yes, find a Chinese, and learn the language with him!”

It's funny how people think that anyone who knows their own language can teach it. Do you understand how to teach Russian to a foreigner from scratch? Where to begin? How to explain? What to explain? And most importantly - how to explain it without knowing the language of the person to whom you are explaining it? In general, this advice goes to the same place as the previous one.

“The language is very difficult, you are unlikely to learn it!”

First, in principle, it is better not to listen to people who themselves cannot do anything and are trying to convince you of the same inability. Secondly, such a person probably knows about the complexity of the Chinese language only from rumors, because he himself did not learn the language. And yes, Chinese is indeed a difficult language, but it is possible to learn it, and even more so it is possible to do it up to the HSK level 2-3 in a reasonable time.
