Chinese transcription

Everyone who has studied English is used to transcription. There is also a transcription in Chinese, but it is called pinyin.

What is transcription in Chinese?

Transcription (pinyin) of the Chinese language is the replacement of Chinese characters with the Latin letters familiar to us. It helps you to pronounce unfamiliar Chinese words correctly, and it is also convenient to type them on the keyboard.

Can I have a couple of examples?

Consider examples:

1) 中国 — China

In pinyin, this would be written as Zhōngguó (Zhong Guo)

2) 北京 — Beijing

With pinyin, this would be written as Běijīng (Bei Jing)
